About Us

Jorge and Alissia Alfaro founded Ideal Driving School in June of 1987 while they were also new parents. Their business began as a small operation in a tiny office with only one car.

Within two years, Ideal had outgrown its first location and moved into a bigger office. They opened their first training site in Fairview in 1991. The additional space allowed them to expand beyond automobile licenses, offering Truck, Bus, and Motorcycle licensing packages as well.

In 1995, Ideal moved its headquarters to Union City, which is still their home today. A location in Passaic opened in 1998, and eventually moved to Clifton in 2001. From there, Ideal expanded into Central New Jersey. The Fords location and Woodbridge training site opened in 2006, and the school opened an office in Elizabeth in 2017.

As the business continues to grow, the second generation has stepped in to help shape Ideal’s future. Chris and his wife Lauren joined Ideal in 2019, bringing with them a vision to help make New Jersey roads the safest in the country!
