To drive a motorcycle in New Jersey, you must have a motorcycle endorsement on your regular driver license -- or get a separate motorcycle license.

Basic Rider Course

If you’re under 18, you’ll need to take the Basic Rider Course. This course takes five hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of riding exercises.

Once you complete the course, you can get your motorcycle endorsement from the NJ MVC. .

At our Motorcycle courses, you must provide the following:

Auto Driver’s License OR validated motorcycle permit

Full-fingered gloves (no cut offs)

Sturdy over-the-ankle boots

Long sturdy pants (jeans are best -- no leggings or sweatpants)

Long sleeve shirt OR jacket

Eye protection (sunglasses or safety glasses)
